Aruba - Day 8

A little Dutch man crammed our luggage in his tiny little taxi and brought us to the airport.  He regaled us with stories of his life, included his moves to Brooklyn and Miami.  He made it very clear that he did not like the weather in Aruba but we couldn’t help but think that is suited us just fine!  Thankfully we got to the airport ahead of the crowds.  In fact, when we got there nothing was open.  Not an employee to be seen!  By the time we got through the last immigrations line we looked back and were amazed at the lines.  Phew!  We amused ourselves by talking to a couple from Brooklyn.  The man was absolutely insane.  The stereotypical New Yorker, who I thought was going to break a blood vessel in his forehead every time he spoke.  And then, when he saw the same little girl that had been on his flight too Aruba on the same flight we were all on, I though for sure he would have an aneurysm.  It was at this at the conclusion of our trip, after a full week of meeting people from all over the world, that we decided we had had enough of people from Boston and New York.  Nice people, good too, I’m sure.  But man, high maintenance to say the least.  We needed a break from them and their high-strung, high stress, go-go-go attitude.  Wow!  We were thrilled to see that each seat on our airplane had its own tv screen with unlimited movies and tv as well as XM radio.  Hurray for not being bored!  The unlimited drinks and snacks came in handy too.  But as we settled into our seats and we looked at each other and nodded, not even needing to really say much of anything.  It would be good to be home.
